Artist Spotlight: Diego Fazio

I really don't know what to say first...except maybe THIS IS NOT A PHOTO.  Once you have wrapped your head around that...which I don't know is actually possible... look at the photos of this drawing in progress.  And yes, I said drawing.  My mind has been blown!

Diego Fazio, also known as DiegoKoi, is an Italian artist that produces such hyper-realistic artwork, that he has been accused of faking the drawings.  There is even a snopes page dedicated to the accusation.  Hence the "in-progress" photos.  I can understand the impulse to doubt...his skill is so astounding that it is hard to believe.  It took him over 200 hours to complete the drawing above.

Check out a few of his other drawings below.

A big thank you to John for introducing me to Diego's work : )

For the Makers...I'm in love

I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to making things.  And because of that, I am overflowing with materials...I save everything...just for the possibility of finding an amazing use for it in the future.  I think there are a lot of people like me out there...they just may not want to admit it : )

I just discovered For the Makers yesterday, and I have to say that I LOVE the idea.  For the Makers creates monthly craft boxes for the avid DIYer.  Each box contains all the materials you will need to make 4 DIY projects.  They also provide detailed instructions for each of the projects.

There are many boxes to choose from if you want to try one out, or you can sign up for a monthly subscription.

Here are a few of the collection boxes and the projects you can make from them-

 The Primrose Collection...

...one of the projects included is the Fairfarren Sunglass Case

The Caspian Collection...
...one of the projects included is the Constellation Tote

Shiny and Bright Collection...
...one of the projects included is the La Pouchette

The Paloma Collection...
...one of the projects included is the Raleigh Tea Towel

If you are the DIYer in your family, you can subscribe to For the Makers here.  I think a 3 month subscription would make a perfect gift for the creative person in your life : )

A Saturday Song...

I had a completely different plan for the weekend...until Jason mentioned that Isabella's room looks pitiful...it is basically empty with the exception of a bed and two unfinished projects.  That is all I needed...the plan has changed and I think Jason is a bit irritated that he was the one that mentioned it : )

So...we are working on Isabella's headboard...completing her desk transformation... hemming drapes...deciding on artwork...and sewing euro shams.  Or should I say, I am doing all of those things, while Jason watches the girls?  By now, I know how these things go : )

Here is a song for your Saturday...

What do you have planned for the weekend?

No matter what it is...I hope you have a wonderful time doing it!
