Milktape...I'm in love

When we were in high school, Jason and I exchanged mixed tapes all the time.  He used to leave them on my window sill at night.  So much so, that when I woke up, I would jump out of bed and open the blinds to see if he had left one for me.  It is one of my favorite memories from high school : )

I have missed the mixed tape so much!  There was something romantic and personal about the little rectangular box and the hand written list of songs.  I was SOOOOO excited when I came upon Milktape's USB Cassette Mixtape today.  It looks like the retro cassette, but modernized with the usb stick snuggly fitted into the "tape".  I LOVE it!  The Milktape cassette even comes with it's own plastic case and paper insert to write your song list on.  Each cassette can hold an average of 15 songs and it costs only $15.

I have to have it!

You can order the USB cassette at Milktape.com

Toddler napping with his puppy... I'm in Love!

Okay...so I may have a thing for babies...and puppies...and when the two are together...I lose my mind a little bit : )  I had to share this ADORABLE naptime series by Jessica Shyba, mother of three, who chronicled the most amazing friendship forming between her 23 month old son, Beau, and their newly adopted 7 week old puppy, Theo.  One pic was enough for me to say "Awwwww", but when I saw them all together, my heart melted.  So sweet to see the beginning of what will be a life long friendship.

I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to making things.  And because of that, I am overflowing with materials...I save everything...just for the possibility of finding an amazing use for it in the future.  I think there are a lot of people like me out there...they just may not want to admit it : )

I just discovered For the Makers yesterday, and I have to say that I LOVE the idea.  For the Makers creates monthly craft boxes for the avid DIYer.  Each box contains all the materials you will need to make 4 DIY projects.  They also provide detailed instructions for each of the projects.

Kasbah Mod...I'm in love

Kasbah Mod is the #1 retailer in the world of restored vintage typewriters.  I LOVE vintage typewriters...and I especially love brightly colored ones.  Not only does Kasbah Mod carry typewriters of every color under the sun, but they also carry a chrome plated typewriter named "The Ghost" and a 24 karat gold-plated typewriter called "The Double-Oh-Seven".  Each typewriter has it's mechanics restored and then is treated to a custom paint job.  These typewriters are definitely on the high end, but if you are a vintage lover, you may want to splurge on one of these bad boys.  LOVE it : )

"I love typewriters. I love the tactile experience of writing with truly obsolete technology. In these days of scatterbrain thinking and an obsession with Control-V and Control-C, the typewriter gives me equal parts freedom and discipline." - Chase Gilbert, Head Designer, Kasbah Mod

Tiny Confessions...I'm in love

Have you ever looked at your dog or cat, and in that moment, you could tell they wanted to say something to you.  This happens all the time with our dog Jada.  And these days...since she is now an old lady...I imagine she has much more to say.

I came across these adorable art prints today on Etsy, and I had to share.  Tiny Confessions is a series of illustrations that share your pet's most inner thoughts.  The first one I saw was the one above, and I couldn't help but laugh...it is a thought I have had once or twice before : )  I really love that they will customize the print for you- if you find your pet, but wish they had a different confession, they will change it for you.  Tiny Confessions is the creation of Christoper Rozzi.  You can visit the Tiny Confessions Etsy store here.

A couple of my favorites- the rabbit, the pug and whatever kind of dog the last guy is...I have no idea, but he is really cute : )

West Elm Market...I'm in love

I have loved West Elm for ages, but now I have even more reasons to LOVE them.  West Elm has introduced the West Elm Market- "a new kind of general store, a community market for hands on living".

They have opened their flagship store in Brooklyn, but just in case you don't live in the neighborhood, you can shop the market online through westelm.com.

Here are just a few of my favorites.  I am sure there are more to come-

Love the Mason jar shaker!  The whole collection summons a speak-easy feeling

I love the organic shapes and marble grain of these olive wood paddle boards.  Not only can you use them as a cutting board, but they make lovely serving pieces for cheese and crackers or a variety of hos d'oevres.

I am always looking for more containers to transfer my kitchen essentials into.  Everything looks better in a pretty jar, whether it be oatmeal...sugar...and even grits.

With this little guy, you don't have to think of anything...it's all there- fork, separated compartment and even a closed sauce/dressing section.  Easy peasy.

This Cake Vintage collaboration dresses up any dinner party.  The 100% recycled paper is whimsical and pretty...and disposable.  LOVE this idea!

These planters are beautiful in their simplicity.  I love the modern design of the cylinder shape combined with the organic marble swirling.

Goodbye Detergent® Cleaning Scrubs-
The thing I love most about this variety of cleaning and scrubbing sponges is that they are all made of sustainable materials.  No matter what surface you are cleaning, there is a cleaning scrub available for it.

I love vintage scissors, so when I saw these heirloom scissors, I instantly went in for a closer look.  I love the "snip" and "clip" details!

The combination of colloidal oatmeal and whipped shea butter to relieve dry and itchy skin.

Meow Meow Tweet Scented Hand Soaps-
Wrapped in cute hand-printed papers, these 100% vegan, 96% organic, and never tested on animals soaps come in a variety of scents such as grapefruit mint, rosemary lime, and lavender lemon.

This lotion bar contains propolis to heal dry skin, even eczema.  No questionable ingredients are included in this all natural product.
