{ Swan Hotel in Bibury } |
This village is the only place I have ever been where everything I looked at was beautiful. The pace of life was peaceful and the surroundings thrived on it.
The pubs had as many dogs as they did patrons. And one pub posted "We welcome dogs, we tolerate humans." on the front door.
The food was comforting, the people were welcoming and the village was beautiful.
{ Arlington Row } |
{ The River Coln } |
Arlington Row was built in 1380 from local stone. It began as a monastic wool store and was then converted into weavers' cottages in the mid seventeenth century. To say it is picturesque, would not be enough. What was amazing about Bibury and The Cotswolds in general, is that the place, the people, the food, the pace and even the air that you breathe inspires peace. It was the first time I had taken a nap in the middle of the day and not awakened guilty.
It is a perfect place to recharge your battery, re-prioritize and appreciate the moment. So rare and hard these days : )
